New Brochure presented at our Annual General Meeting March 7th 2010
We had a great Annual General Meeting this year with many uplifting reports.
The highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of our new "Velkommen - Welcome" brochure. If you would like to see the brochure please download it here or use the menu to navigate to About->Brochure.
If you would like to have some brochures to share with family and friends or to distribute in a place where Danes meet around the Greater Toronto Area, please contact Pastor Elisabeth or any member of the board (for phone numbers, e-mails and addresses go to the contacts page). You can also be a member of the church by contacting any of us.
We look forward to hearing from you!

Church Services during the Holy Week
Palm Sunday, March 28th 10.30 am
The Holy Week starts as always with Palm Sunday, this year as something new and extra festive Children’s Hour has joined the church choir for a palm leaf procession.
Maundy Thursday, April 1st 12 noon
In keeping with tradition the Golden Age Club will celebrate Maundy Thursday followed by their famous lunch. Everyone is welcome. If you would like to join the lunch, please phone Else Staal Nielsen at 905 619 2456.
Good Friday, April 2nd 10.30 am
The liturgical and quiet service on Good Friday prepare us for the joyful Easter morning. As always the confirmands and members of the congregation read the passion story. Our own choir as well as a church choir coming all the way from Sweden will sing some contemplative pieces for us during the service.
Easter Sunday, April 4th 10.30 am
Rejoice! Christ has risen. The church choir, trumpeter Patrick Boyle, organist Michael Sharkey and bassoonist Kiera Galway will with their great music make our souls rise with Christ on Easter morning.
Also the Children’s Hour has been busy preparing for Easter. At the beginning of the service they will bring daffodils to the altar. After the service they will serve us a homemade lunch and entertain the congregation. The money collected at the lunch table will be sent to Christian Children's Fund to purchase chickens for needy people around the world.
Soup Sunday March 14th
According to the calender the winter ends on March 20th. As a celebration of that spring will soon begin, we will on the last Sunday of Winter, on March 14th, serve a hot bowl of soup after the church service.
A group of ladies from the Golden Age Club will prepare this delicious light lunch for us.
So come to church Sunday March 14th at 10.30 - remember it is the day when Daylight Saving Time begins!
Ash Wednesday
The Danes have been invited to join the Finnish and the Swedish Lutheran churches for their Ash Wednesday celebration. In the Danish Lutheran Church we usually only celebrate Fastelavn before Lent. Most other Lutherans churches all over the world also celebrate Ash Wednesday, which is 46 days before Easter (40 days not counting the Sundays).
Fastelavn - a real family event during family weekend
The Danish Church in Toronto will again this year like to invite all Danish families in greater Toronto area to Fastelavn. The celebration takes place Sunday February 14th in the middle of family weekend. If you and your family wants to experience a real family event during family weekend, come to church!
